8 Essential Finger picking Patterns

Here I have created 8 essential fingerpicking patterns for the beginner/ intermediate guitarist.

These include ascending and descending arpeggios and alternating thumb. My favourite is Travis Picking which is easy to get going and then apply variations to it to create your own way of playing it and add it to your song writing skills. I have already encountered this technique while arranging all 30 songs of the Beatles White album for fingerstyle guitar. Songs that use this technique are Julia, Dear Prudence and Blackbird to a degree.
